Rush Limbaugh is a Big, Fat Criminal

The long arm of the law caught up with The Right's favorite big mouth.  Rush Limbaugh was charged today with drug fraud steming from a two-year investigation. Limbaugh, who admitted an addiction to prescription painkillers in October 2003, might be needing more painkillers soon but for different reasons.  I wonder what Al Frankin has to say this afternoon about this?

Dumb-Dumb Falls in the Snow

Snow_job Sometimes, you just have the right name for the job.  In this case Tony Snow(job). Dumb-Dumb named Fox News Radio host Tony Snow as White House press secretary today.  Snow(job) will be taking over for "Dance, Scotty, Dance" Scott McClellan in the press room hot seat.  You either are stupid or have a huge ego (both?) to take on this job of lies and deceit.   But, then again, he has been working for Fox News for the past few years, so he should be used to spreading falsehoods around.

A long, dark winter is about to fall over this administration as it's endless lies, deceit, nepotism and thievery catch up with them.  Snow(job) is the first sign of the coming frost.  Let's see if he can dance as well as Scotty.

Anyone Willing to Step Up?

ProtestorOk, I don't know who deserves the credit for this photo, but the message is classic. Is anyone out there willing to take the bullet? I can't even look at Dumb Dumb let alone even consider going there. I do know that this pic was taken at an anti-Iraq war protest in San Francisco.

Hey, did Rover do a poll about gasoline prices? Or are lamo's friends complaining about what to do with all of their extra cash?

The plummeting approval or on the plus side growing disapproval ratings ought to be telling us something! GO DEMS in the MIDTERMS!

Here is One for Ya

So, I am running some errands at lunch (not so earth shattering) as I do most days. I was walking along minding my own business, lamenting the loss of the sun, and bam!

Some woman in an official type outfit hands me a postcard, again not too unusual. Being curious, I look at to realize that it is an invitation to a Scientology event. Are they using the freak Tom Cruise's spawn as a way to get attention? Hmm. It makes you wonder.

Obviously, I won't be going and I noticed a huge number of them in the trash as well.

Civic-Minded Centennial

So this past week, I got up at 3:30 am to attend the Centennial of San Francisco's 1906 Earthquake. Was it worth it? Yes and no.

I got to see the Mayor Talk and Talk. Hearing the survivors was interesting. Some of them were quite lucid and had some fascinating recollections. The crowd favorite had to be Norma Norwood who was conceived in a tent in Golden Gate park where most of the City's population moved after the City was destroyed in a fire. She proceeded to hit on Mayor Newsom.

The old horse-drawn fire trucks were a great sight to see, hearing the fire bells sound  at 5:12 am at the time the quake hit did get even the crusty San Francisco crowd a little misty. I haven't seen Lotta's Fountain looking that good in quite some time. It was the main meeting site for hours and days after the fire.

Offensive Ice Cream

Sadly, yes.

Ben & Jerry's decided to out a new flavor. Ok, sounds good, right? No! They made a flavor called Black & Tan. Yes, this is offensive. It is an insult. What's so bad about it?

The Black & Tan were an especially brutal, elite British force during Ireland's war for Independence. They were known to have beaten men to death, execute men assassin style and terrorize even children.

Interesting, that we have not heard an apology from their lame asses! Maybe they meant to name it after the drink, but if they are as PC a company as they claim, then they should have researched the name completely before using it.

Dumb Dumb Comes to Cisco

I received this note from several sources. Check out the wide path our CEO (Chief Embarassment Officer) must have for his visit today at Cisco Systems down in San Jose.  Employees were also encouraged to work from home to avoid the mess his visit will cause. All for Dumb Dumb.  Sidenote: Cisco's CEO, John Chambers, is a noted Bay Area Republican.

Cisco Internal Message to it's San Jose-Based Employees

Cisco has the honor and privilege of hosting U.S. President George Bush on the San Jose campus on Friday afternoon, April 21, for an invitation-only panel discussion with California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, CEO John Chambers, and several other participants to discuss U.S. competitiveness, technology, and education.

Closures – New Information
The Baypointe and Cisco Way Light Rail stations will be closed on Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Light Rail will be running its scheduled routes, but trains will not stop at Baypointe or Cisco Way. At certain times during the day, service may be delayed/stopped for several minutes.

Access
Invited guests will include Cisco employees and local business and community members. Only those with a personal invitation will be allowed entry to the event. A special live CiscoTV broadcast will be provided for all employees to participate virtually, from approximately 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Pacific Time.

Cisco's Work from Home Policy
The safety and security of employees and participants are Cisco's utmost concern at this event. The work from home policy states that is up to the discretion of you and your manager to determine whether or not working at home is appropriate for you and your job. Due to the expected parking lot and road closures (see below), the public attention and crowd control issues, and general disruption to the campus, Cisco highly recommends that all San Jose-based employees talk with their managers and consider working from home on April 21 .

The company appreciates your patience and cooperation in this matter, and apologizes in advance for any inconvenience this might cause. If your building's parking lot or the roads surrounding your building will be inaccessible, you will receive advance notification via e-mail.

Cisco Identification
If you plan on being on campus that day, please carry your Cisco photo ID badge (no temporary badges will be accepted) as well as a second form of picture identification with you at all times. You will need to present identification to Cisco security or local authorities to gain access to roads and parking lots. Please respect any direction you may receive from Cisco security and local authorities in and around the campus.

Parking, Security, Road Closures, and Safety Concerns
Security will be extremely tight on campus this Friday and there will be several parking lot and road closures. All road and pedestrian closures will remain in effect except in the event of an emergency. It's expected that large public crowds will assemble on public property on Tasman near Cisco Way , which may inconvenience travel in and around that area. Cisco is working with local authorities to minimize the impact of those public crowds to employees and business.

Buildings 1-19 (Cisco Site 4) will be the most impacted from a traffic and parking perspective. Due to security concerns, the San Jose Police Department will close the following roads and sidewalks at the following times (all times are subject to change):

Vehicle and Sidewalk Traffic
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Pedestrian traffic will be limited to badged Cisco employees on Tasman Dr. from Baypointe Parkway to Cisco Way. You must carry a Cisco badge with a photo at all times (no temporary badges will be accepted).

•  Pedestrian traffic will be limited to badged Cisco employees on Zanker Road from Baypointe Parkway to Center Road.

•  Vehicular traffic will be prohibited on Tasman Dr. from Zanker Road to Cisco Way.

•  The Baypointe and Cisco Way Light Rail stations will be closed. Light Rail will be running its scheduled routes, but trains will not stop there.

1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
•  Vehicular traffic will be prohibited on Tasman Dr. from McCarthy Ranch Road to First Street.

•  Vehicular traffic will be prohibited on Zanker Road from Highway 237 to River Oaks Parkway.

•  Vehicular traffic will be prohibited on Cisco Way from River Oaks Parkway to Tasman.

•  Vehicular traffic will be prohibited on River Oaks Parkway to Cisco Way.

Alternative Vehicular Routes to Access Cisco Campus from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.:
•  From Highway 237 take Southbound Zanker Road and U-Turn at Tasman Dr. to enter building 1 or 2 parking lots.

•  From Westbound Tasman Dr. approaching Cisco Way, you MUST turn left onto Cisco Way; parking lots available for buildings 12-19.

•  Remember that these routes will not be accessible between 1-4 p.m.

It is letters addressed to our Mayor Gavin Newsom. Will he ever respond? Hmm.

On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!

Any guesses as to how many people will leave the Bush Administration? The new chief of wieners is asking for anyone who wants jump ship, do it now.

Why would anyone want to leave that fabulous workplace? Could it be that they are mortified about the Katrina debacle? Or horrified about the war for oil on terror in Iraq? Hey, maybe we will finally find out where Osama bin Hidin' really is located?
