Americans Practice Looksism

First impressions. They seem to rule our world. It follows suit, then that Americans apply this method to selecting a political candidate. FanFUCKINGtastic.

Although rendering a snap judgment on a candidate's competence with just a quick glance may seem a superficial way to judge people, a Princeton University study finds that such reasoning accurately predicted election outcomes in about 70% of gubernatorial and U.S. Senate races last year. USAToday

Of all of the shortcuts that we take, this seems just so wrong. We need to look at the candidates qualifications, i.e. their voting record, stance on the issues and prior experience. Damn, America is a sinking ship.
