Always a Lady and a Liberal

Strawberries at San Luis Obispo Farmer's Market. Three dollars.
Gas to get to Southern California. Eighty dollars.
Flipping off the grave of Ronald Reagan. Priceless.

Obama Doesn't Know History

"I had a uncle who was one of the, who was part of the first American troops to go into Auschwitz and liberate the concentration camps and the story in our family was is that when he came home, he just went up into the attic and he didn’t leave the house for six months," Obama said. "Now obviously something had really affected him deeply but at that time there just weren’t the kinds of facilities to help somebody work through that kind of pain."
                                        - Barack Obama in New Mexico on Memorial Day

Wait, I was always taught that Auschwitz was liberated by the Soviet soldiers. It is so meaningful to him that he can't get the facts correct? This is not impressive. Can you say US History class in high school?

Religion on I-5

On the drive back from LA this weekend, we stopped for gas right off the grapevine
and look what tee shirt was for sale. This was among an entire rack of
religious apparel on offer from the god squad.

Who says you have to be near a big box church in order to see this stuff? Maybe they should change their name to gas 'n preach?

Saturday Shoutouts

As you three lurkers know, I have a liquid crack addiction aka coffee. It pleased me to find a kindred spirit here in the Bay Area, Man Seeking Coffee. I feel as though we are destined to be friends.

I like to make notes to myself a lot, so I was excited to be told about this great blog, Indexed.

Check 'em out people, be sure to add then to your blog rolls, too.

San Diego County Shows No Love to LGBT

Back the bus up for a minute, I was under the impression that we our country was founded on the separation of church and state. That is certainly not ringing true in San Diego County.

Watch this story on how the clerks of San Diego County may be excused from conducting gay marriages. Hey, when I was a state employee I had to meet with right wing religious freaks because it was part of my job, not because I liked them or agreed with them.

How do members of the LGBT community feel?

Obama Gets Hypocritical

Barack Obama lashes out at the Republicans for using his wife and her gaffe of a statement in a campaign commercial. This is a tried and true campaign tactic, so if Michelle is going to speak in public, then she should realize that her words and actions have ramifications.

Isn't this hypocritical? Obama and his spokeswhores used Bill Clinton and his statements at every opportunity. did they not?

CA Supreme Court Lets Freedom Ring

Good news, good news, good news!!!

The California Supreme Court has struck down the gay marriage ban. I will post more details when I have them.

This is the best news that I have heard in a long time! After all, we should all be allowed to have the same rights that are administered by our government.

Right wing freaks, you can suck it!!!! I am sure that you already have some disgusting ballot measure prepared for the November ballot and I look forward to fighting it.
