Rehnquist Update

Chief Justice William Rehnquist has been hospitalized with a high fever. He is currently battling cancer as well. As reported in the San Francisco Chronicle. We won't even discuss the evil thoughts that involve Karl Rove that are currently in my head.

Rehnquist's future has been the subject of intense speculation since he announced in October that he had thyroid cancer. He has said very little publicly about his prognosis and nothing about his future at the court.

Sen. Arlen Specter, who has a type of cancer involving the lymph nodes, said doctors "take extensive precautions with cancer patients who have elevated symptoms." Specter, R-Pa., is chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

I just posted about this - did you see the articles out saying that Bush is considering a non-judge for the Supreme Court? That puts Gonzalez in a prime position ... but it also shows his aversion to the judicial branch. He could pick my next-door neighbor in an intentional botch and send the whole court down the river!

Pretty much nothing seems worth doing. I've just been letting everything happen without me these days. I've just been sitting around waiting for something to happen, but whatever.
