Sadly, it is the final midnight hour for Wilson "Wicked Pickett." He has passed away at a very young 64. Pickett was inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame back in 1991.

Wilson Pickett was one of my early influences. He and Aretha helped shape my experience in this uniquely American genre. Rest in peace, Wilson.

Wilson Pickett changed my concept of what emotion expressed through singing was. I'm so sad we lost him so early.
